Overview

This is the personal portfolio website of Sefat Khan, Technology & Digital Creator. It has no user accounts, shows no advertising and does not sell personal data. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and which other services handle it.

Information I collect

• Contact form: if you send a message, I receive the name, email address, subject and message you enter. I use them only to reply to you and deal with your enquiry. Submissions are received by Netlify, the hosting provider, and delivered to me by email. The form also contains a hidden field that helps catch spam bots.
• AI support chat (optional): if you use the chat, the text you type, together with recent messages from the same conversation, is sent from your browser to a function on this site’s hosting and from there to Google’s Gemini API to generate a reply. The site does not save chat messages: the conversation exists only in your open browser tab. The chat function uses your IP address only to limit how quickly messages can be sent. Please do not enter personal or sensitive information in the chat.
• Analytics: the site uses Google Analytics to understand how pages are used, for example pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location based on your IP address. Google Analytics may set cookies to recognise repeat visits. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off in the site’s analytics configuration. I use the reports in aggregate and do not try to identify individual visitors.
• Hosting logs: Netlify may process technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested to deliver and secure the site.
• Cookies and browser storage: the site’s own code does not set cookies or save data in your browser. Cookies from Google Analytics are described above.

Security tools

The tools on the Tools page process what you type or choose in your browser. The tool code does not send that input to any server and does not save it in your browser. The page itself still loads Google Analytics and Google Fonts like every other page, and the chat widget is available on every page, but none of them is given what you enter into the tools. As a general precaution, avoid entering real passwords, tokens or other sensitive data into any online tool.

Third-party services

• Netlify: hosting, contact form handling and the chat function.
• Google Fonts: your browser loads fonts from Google servers, so Google receives your IP address and browser details.
• Google Analytics: usage statistics, as described above.
• Google Gemini API: used only if you use the AI support chat. Google processes the text you send under its own terms and privacy policy.
• Links to social platforms, WhatsApp and Google Maps open services that have their own privacy policies.

These services handle data under their own policies and are outside my direct control.

Retention and your choices

I keep contact messages only as long as I need them to reply and follow up, and I delete them if you ask. To ask about, correct or delete a message you sent me, email sefat371@yahoo.com and mention the name and email address you used. You can block analytics with a browser extension or your browser’s privacy settings, and you can choose not to use the AI chat. Data held by Netlify or Google under their own policies is not controlled by me, so please see their privacy policies for their practices.
